THQ Q1 losses nearly triple to $27 million

As reported by Gamespot, THQ's posted a loss of $27 million for the first quarter ending June 30.

The shortfall is nearly triple the $9.3 million deficit it suffered during the same quarter last year.

The loss was mainly down to development costs, however, and the company posted net earnings of $137.6 million, $33.1 million more than the corresponding previous period.
