This Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare cutscene turns the tide on the game's reception

The Call of Duty YouTube page has posted an in-game cutscene from
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and people seem to be happy with it.

Watch on YouTube

This cutscene showcases a pivotal moment in the game, where playable character Lt. Reyes is promoted to captain following the deaths of his immediate superiors.

There's no action, just dialog and character development. But perhaps the most interesting thing about this video is that it's not attracting the same vitriol previous Infinite Warfare videos have.

The reveal trailer for Infinite Warfare is one of the most disliked YouTube videos of all time, with over 3 million people giving it a thumbs-down.

By comparison, at the time of writing this in-game cinematic has just over 4000 dislikes...and over 12000 likes.

Whether this will stay the case remains to be seen, but after some interesting E3 footage, an extensive Game Informer cover story, and the allure of Modern Warfare Remastered, it could be that there's genuine excitement about this game.

Chances are, of course, that Call of Duty's numerous non-fans will catch on in time and downvote the video, so bask in this enthusiasm while you can.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases November 4 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
