There's a PUBG knock-off on mobile in China, and it has the Terminator license for some reason

A Terminator game with a Battle Royale tint could work pretty well. So what if it was a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds knock-off, and it came out on mobile?

Because that's what Chinese developer NetEase did with its newest title. The game's menus and graphical style resembles PUBG to an uncanny degree, and it's even going for the same scale, at the very least.

It'll be released on mobile in China next week, and will support 48 players. The mini map, UI elements, and everything else is exactly like it is in PUBG. Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad shared those images on Twitter earlier.

We're not sure if you also get dropped onto an island, but it seems that way from the screens. Even looking over them a few times, I still don't understand what Terminator has to do with this. It's possible they're just using the name to promote the game, it certainly wouldn't be the first time this happened in games.

I imagine many others would sooner or later copy PUBG, either whole cloth or borrow the mechanics and create something new out of them.
