Fear Effect Sedna is a tactics game in the same vein as Shadowrun Returns.

There's a new Fear Effect coming, and it's not what you think

A new Fear Effect game is in development. This is not the action game you know from the PS1 era, instead, it's an indie game that's a lot like Shadowrun Returns.

Called Fear Effect Sedna, the game is being worked on by French studio Sushee, as part of the Square Enix Collective programme. The game's Kickstarter is set to launch Tuesday, April 12, asking for €100,000.

The original game's main characters in Hana, Rain Qin, Royce Glas and Jacob 'Deke' DeCourt, will all make an appearance in Sedna. The game's story will continue on from the sequel and the unreleased third game.

Being inspired by Shadowrun Returns, Sedna features an isometric camera with turn-based combat where you control up to five characters at the same time.

Fear Effect Sedna will release in 2017, should its Kickstarter succeed.
