The Witcher 3: Final Preparations walkthrough

Here's how to complete the Final Preparations quest in The Witcher 3.

Final Preparations is exactly what it sounds like. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is close to ending, and there are a few more things Geralt needs to crack on with. We've detailed exactly what you need to do on this page, which includes a couple of secondary quests.

If you need pointing in the right direction at this point, we can't blame you, so here's how to complete the Final Preparations quest in The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: Final Preparations walkthrough

At the start of Final Preparations, you see the result of your participation or dismissal of Now or Never in The Witcher 3. Both are unpleasant. You did the best you could, I guess.

After you’ve met with Zoltan and Ciri, you are free to roam the world once more. You’re given four objectives, all of which kick off a new quest:

As mentioned above, it is best that you don’t speak to Avalla’ch yet; complete the other three quests first.

When you have completed Blindingly Obvious, The Great Escape, and Payback, the next time you return to Dandelion's Inn, you'll trigger a couple of cutscenes and dialogues, and once again, your dialogue choices have an effect on the ending. Make a back up save before entering.

If you don’t want to read any spoilers regarding these choices, ignore all the italicised text below.

SPOILER WARNING

  • Stay on the landing and listen patiently to push towards a positive ending.
  • Attend the meeting and speak for Ciri to push towards a negative ending; she's old enough to look after herself, you know.

When you’re finished with the three quests above, make sure you've done any side questing you want to do, including new quests:

  • Reason of State triggers during Blindingly Obvious if you fulfil the requirements.
  • If you have romanced both Triss and Yennefer, you’ll trigger the secondary quest It Takes Three to Tango after completing Blindingly Obvious, The Great Escape and Payback.

All done with those quests and your subsequent bits of decision-making? Visit Avalla’ch to start Through Time and Space.
