The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine may live up to that E3 2014 promise

The new expansion makes good on a vision PC players in particular were very much looking forward to.

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine may live up to that E3 2014 promise

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine introduces some new technology to CD Projekt RED's award-winning RPG, which allows the developer to do some pretty fancy stuff with graphics.

Although we're yet to see how this works out in the PS4 and Xbox One builds, Eurogamer's Digital Foundry has spent some time with the PC version and has a glowing report of the results.

According to the video above, the new region players will explore is so fabulous that on max settings it pretty much delivers on a long-cherished promise, meeting expectations set by an E3 2014 demo. When The Witcher 3 first launched, the fact that it didn't live up to the demo was a very sore point for some.

In this case The Witcher 3's final form, as it were, appears to have hit the benchmark CD Projekt RED had been aiming for. Good on them for refusing to settle.

Blood and Wine launches on May 31 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
