The Witcher 2 dev diary talks broader scale and villains

20110120witcher2

Gamespot have posted a third developer diary for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, touching on some of the game's key characters and plotlines.

This third diary introduces us to some of Geralt's antagonists: Iorveth, a "simple son of a b***h" elven guerilla, and Ambassador Shilard of Niflgard, who "ceased being human to become a politician."

We're also given a hint of CD Projekt's vision for the game's scope, with one writer commenting that the scale of events had changed "as if we zoomed away from the map and include entire countries this time."

See the full trailer below. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is due for release on PC and via digital distribution in May, with subsequent major console releases heavily rumoured.
