The Wii U actually has a boatload of great games

Wii U detractors go on about how the console has no games, but this hype trailer puts paid to that myth.

Nintendo UK's Wii U games showreel shows off the best of the Wii U's catalogue, present and future.

There are a few titles here that are pretty far off yet - the new Legend of Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles X - and quite a few you probably already have, like Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Between these, though, you'll see a genuinely exciting line-up of Wii U exclusives. There's a huge variety in terms of tone and gameplay style on offer, from the hardcore action of Bayonetta 2 to the Lemmings-like puzzles of Mario vs Donkey Kong.

Maybe the Wii U doesn't have as many third-party releases as its rivals, but what it does have is certainly pretty special.

Thanks, NintendoLife.
