The Walking Dead: Season Two delayed in Ireland, New Zealand and Russia

The Walking Dead: Season Two has run into late-stage age ratings issues, but will turn up in territories where it was mysteriously absent at launch last week.

In a post on its forums, Telltale Games confirmed the delay but promised affected users the first episode, All That Remains, is on its way.

"We can confirm that The Walking Dead: Season Two will be coming to Russia and New Zealand on PlayStation 3 and to Ireland, Russia, and New Zealand on Xbox 360," the publisher said.

"A late-breaking issue with ratings submission in these countries meant the season premiere could not coincide with other regions, but rest assured they'll have Season Two early in the new year."

TellTale thanked fans for their patience in this matter.

Despite its subdued art style and emphasis on story, the first season of The Walking Dead had some high impact horror moments, and was delayed on some platforms in selected territories. South Australian attorney general John Rau called for it to be reassessed recently, but the Australian Classification Board upheld its previous decision, presumably concluding the violent or gory scenes were artistically and narratively justified.

The first season of TellTale's The Walking Dead adventure sold gangbusters and wowed critics; early reports suggest the second season will do the same. The first episode is currently available on Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, although we're expecting it to come to mobile devices eventually, too, and possibly next-gen consoles.

TellTale is also working on an adaptation of the comic Fables called The Wolf Among Us, and recently revealed upcoming Game of Thrones and Borderlands projects.

Thanks, DarkZero.
