The Swindle is a 2D action platformer where you break into places and steal cash

The Swindle is a 2D, steampunk-themed action platformer where your objective is to break into buildings, hack systems, steal cash and run away. The levels are procedurally-generated, and you can upgrade your thief after each mission to add better tools for harder jobs.

The Swindle will also have perma-death. Your thief can die, losing all his upgrades and tools. You can then hire another from a pool of randomly-generated thieves.

There is a trailer below showing some of those mechanics in action. It appears you won't need to sneak your way into places, which is always good to see.

The Swindle was announced all the way back in 2013 and then promptly cancelled. It's developed by Size Five Games, the guys behind 'Ben There, Dan That', 'Gun Monkeys' and others. The game will be out on PC early 2015, with the potential for PS4 and Vita versions.
