The Outer Worlds' release date looks like it accidentally leaked on Steam

The Steam page appears to have briefly spilled the beans on the game's release date, but because this is the internet, it's too late - we've seen everything.

If the information that was live on Steam for a full 17 and a half hours is accurate, The Outer Worlds is launching on August 6, 2019.

Spotted by GamesRadar+, the SteamDB page details the addition of the release date on February 22, at 2AM. Later that same day, it was removed.

It's a first-person title that's an RPG first, but a solid shooter to boot, with the studio saying that the combat will feature small encounters that will play out like a shooter, and larger, more elaborate fights that players will need to utilise a more tactical approach for.

The Outer Worlds is slated for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year. Possibly on August 6.
