The Order: 1886 assets show next-gen engine's chops

Documents detailing the next-gen graphics tech of The Order: 1886 show some pretty special technological leaps.

Ready at Dawn graphics programmers David Neubelt and Matt Pettineo presented the materials below at Siggraph 2013, a computer graphics and interactive techniques conference held in Anaheim, California.

If you're interested in development and technically-minded, it's worthwhile checking out the slides and lecture notes

If, like the vast majority of us, you're just keen to see the end results, here are a couple of images which AllGamesBeta harvested from the documents, as well as a video showing the fabric capture process.

The full syllabus also includes presentations on Unreal Engine and Black Ops 2.

The Order: 1886 is a linear, third-person action adventure with filmic qualities. Announced at E3 2013, it's a PlayStation 4 exclusive which was on hold until next-gen technology became available. We're pretty excited to learn more about it, since it's the first original IP from developer Ready at Dawn, which is staffed by Naughty Dog and Blizzard veterans.
