The new PS4 firmware is pretty boring

A new PS4 firmware update is available but it's not as exciting as we expected.

Fire up your PS4 now to download the latest firmware update, version 1.74.

Unfortunately it doesn't introduce any fancy new features; according to the patch notes, the update's only contribution is that "system software stability during use of some features has been improved".

Sony promised news about this firmware update yesterday, so we're a little disappointed to find it's so feature-slim after the build up.

On the bright side, it only takes a few minutes to download and install, and then you can jump straight back into the Destiny beta; as you no doubt know, you need the latest firmware update to access the PSN.

Thanks, IGN.
