See next-gen Mordor in first screens from The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

We have our first look at The Lord of the Rings: Gollum thanks to a new preview.

Announced over a year ago, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a narrative adventure game from German developer Daedalic Entertainment.

Outside of confirming the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X, Daedalic never actually showed off any gameplay. Though we've yet to get any footage, we do have the first gameplay screens courtesy of a Gamestar preview.

The shots show off the game's interpretation of Mordor, but also how it represents Gollum's multiple personalities. The game takes place before the books, and will chart the character's (Smeagol) journey up to and including his eventual corruption.

We've grabbed a few screenshots (below), but you can see the full gallery at the link.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is coming sometime in 2021.
