The LEGO Movie videogame to release on current, next-gen in 2014

The LEGO Movie videogame has been announced by Warner and TT Games.

The game will be based on the Village Roadshow Pictures film and will launch in 2014 alongside the movie and a set of toys.

In the game, players take on the role of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the "most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world."

Players will guide him as he is drafted into a "fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared."

Would-be Emmet's will also use LEGO instruction pages to build construction sets or harness the power of the Master Builders to build LEGO creations. It also contains over 90 characters inspired by the film and 15 levels.

The Lego Movie game will be released on 3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
