The Last of Us: Part 2 developer diary discusses bringing detail to the characters and the world

In the latest development video for The Last of Us: Part 2, Naughty Dog discusses the detail it put into the world and characters.

Naughty Dog has released the latest developer diary for The Last of Us: Part 2, and in it, the team discusses the meticulous process of bringing detail to the characters and the world.

Attention to detail not only applies to how the game looks, but how the story plays out. The team watched movies, read books, and listened to news stories in order to make the characters feel more authentic.

Once a narrative was set, the team began writing the script which led to bringing in actors from the previous game, and actors for new characters, and each brought their own take on the role they were playing.

The development team goes on to discuss authenticity as a goal, and how they wanted the game to be as believable and realistic as possible. This applies not only to how the characters look when feeling a certain emotion, but adding nuance to enemies in the game.

If you are interested in the game you will want to give the developer video a watch.

The previous inside look at the game focused on gameplay. Another inside look at the game focused on the story, and if you missed it, you can watch it at the link.

You can expect the final inside look at the game, will touch upon the world, to be released next week on June 3.
