The Last Guardian a TGS no-show

Adding to anxiety over Team Ico's third outing is news The L:ast Guardian will skip the Tokyo Game Show this year.

A post on the PlayStation Blog, revealing reversible cover art for the forthcoming HD Collection of earlier works Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, broke the bad news.

"We wanted to confirm that The Last Guardian is not on the schedule for this year’s Tokyo Game Show," marketing manager Brian Dunn wrote.

"However we can assure you that Ueda-san and the rest of the development team are hard at work to bring his lofty vision to life and deliver the very best gaming experience possible."

Speaking to VG247 at gamescom this year, Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida said progress on the games had been "not as fast as" as Sony was "hoping for".

The Last Guardian is a PlayStation 3 exclusive which tells the story of a young boy and giant griffin-like animal named Torico. Like ICO, the player must co-operate with their AI companion to progress, and like Shadow of the Colossus, can climb their giant friend.
