The Hobbit browser game hits 1 million registered users

Warner Bros. announced today in a press release that its browser game The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age has passed the 1 million registered users mark.

The game attracted more than 250,000 new users in one day following its release on March 21.

Armies of the Third Age is a free-to-play effort developed by Kabam. It's a tactical game set in the universe of Middle-earth and can be played on Facebook.

We reported late last year that Warner and MGM had invested in Kabam to develop the game after its success with iOS and Android strategy title The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth.
