The Gunstringer moved from XBL release to retail due to request from Microsoft

Twisted Pixel's CEO has said its upcoming marionette game, The Gunstringer, was switched from an XBL-only release to a full retail version, due to a decision made by Steve Baller and other Microsoft head honchos during a business retreat.

Speaking in a video interview with D'toid, Michael Wilford said the business types at MS saw a demo of the game, apparently liked it, and asked if the developers could switch it over to a full release.

Wilford also said that the team had been working on a retail version "secretly" since February.

You can watch a demo of the game below, with Wilford providing the walkthrough.

The Gunstringer is slated for a September release on Kinect.
