The Crew 2 PvP, new demolition derby mode launch next week

The Crew 2 gets the promised PvP mode next week, along with the new demolition derby vehicles and tracks.

Ubisoft has announced that The Crew 2's second major post-launch update is launching on Wednesday, December 5 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The December update's biggest addition is multiplayer, of course, a feature that's been absent from The Crew 2 since the game launched at the end of June. Developer Ivory Tower always planned for it to go live in December, so at least players will be receiving it on time.

PvP supports up to eight players per session and will be available to everyone starting at the Rookie level. The mode features different disciplines and a rotating set of events. PvP also has a competitive tier called leagues that'll give out bigger rewards.

Demolition derby is the other major addition in the December update. This is a new discipline that sounds exactly as you imagine. Demolition derby launches with four fully-destructible cars, and two arenas. Each arena has a gameplay twist.

The Bonneville Salt Flat will see players dodging obstacles and other hazards like a spring-loaded boxing glove. The Tucson aircraft cemetery has unguarded tracks that'll allow players to push each other off the track.

The new demolition derby cars can be used in free mode, where they'll also be destructible. Finally, the December update will bring more activities and skills to all players.
