Team Ninja: "We're not trying to be Splinter Cell or Metal Gear" with NG3

Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi has said the studio isn't trying to emulate Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell with Ninja Gaiden 3.

Hayashi said that it was about making main character Ryu a "Japanese dark hero."

"We want to have the player feel like he is a ninja, so we’re offering up different kinds of actions that go along with that theme. We're not trying to be Splinter Cell or Metal Gear, stealth is just in there as an accent," he told Edge.

Hayashi also added that it was currently looking at how to use the tablet controller for the Wii U version of the game, although wouldn't go any further than that.

NG3 releases next year on Wii U, as well as PS3 and 360.
