Team Ninja announces collaboration on Ni-Oh

ni-oh

Team Ninja announced during TGS it's collaborating with developer Kou Shibusawa on the samurai action game Ni-Oh.

You'd be forgiven if you can't recall the game because it's been considered vaporware since it dropped out of sight after its 2005 E3 and 2006 TGS showings.

A bit of information on it was posted in Famitsu last year, but nothing consequential.

Ni-Oh tells the tale of a blond samurai warrior trying to sort his destiny in a "war torn" 16th century Japan. The story is based on awesome Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa's previously lost script.

Despite the reveal of Team Ninja's involvement, that's about all the new information available on the title. A release window was not provided, and no mention was made of whether or not it's still exclusive to PS3.

Here's a teaser released from four years ago.

Thanks, GamePro, Joystiq.
