Team 17 joins TIGA

TIGA's announced Worms and Alien Breed developer Team 17 has joined the UK trade organisation's ranks.

“Team17 is delighted to be a member of TIGA. The company’s metamorphosis from an independent developer into a global digital publisher has presented the business with numerous challenges and opportunities," said managing director Debbie Bestwick.

"The end result is that Team17 is now one of the first of its kind to be in total control of its own destiny within the exciting direct-to-consumer digital marketplace. TIGA can help represent Team17 and the industry’s interests in addition to allowing us to share our experiences with our peers."

TIGA CEO Richard Wilson added; "Given Team17's incredible pedigree and standing within the videogames industry, we are extremely excited to be having them on board as members of TIGA. The company has strong roots, is well known and regarded among players, and it continues to be innovative, in particular building upon its excellent and popular Worms franchise,"

The studio celebrates its 22nd anniversary this year and has just finished the transition of becoming a fully digital-only studio
