TaxiTaxi launches on Kickstarter, run a cab company in real-world cities

TaxiTaxi is the debut Kickstarter project from Binary Pumpkin. It uses mapping tech to let you build up a cab empire in a real-life rendition of San Francisco.

The project went live this morning and seeks £35,300. At the time of writing it has made £115 with 29 days left.

Using 3D mapping tech by eeGeo, Taxi Taxi lets you ferry customers across real streets, dotted with actual landmarks. Examples of London and New York mapping were shown alongside San Francisco, but the campaign page states that San Fran will be the location funded through the Kickstarter project.

Here's a prototype image of the tech at work in San Francisco:

The game is in development now for iOS and Android, and looks like it might be good fun for fans of SimCity and the likes. Android beta access is included in funding tiers, while an alpha is in the works at Binary Pumpkin now.
