  • DualShock 3 Oz date has no bearing on Euro launch, says SCEE

SCEE has just told videogaming247 that the Australian date and price for DualShock 3 has no bearing on the European launch for the controller, which remains unannounced. “The date in the Australian press release refers to the Australian market only,” said a rep. “Whilst DS3 will come to all SCEE territories at some point, at […]

This Gamespot report confirms that DualShock 3 will be released in Australia on April 24 for A$99.95 (£47 or $92) and in New Zealand on May 9 for NZ$109.95 (£44 or $86). In the US, the controller retails for $54.99. No announcement’s been made for Europe yet, but you can expect one imminently. We’re just […]

  • That was the news – Week 15, 2008: Announce the 80Gb PS3 SKU and DualShock 3 for Europe, SCEE, or risk damage later this year

The Americans were pulling little colon-“o” emoticons, but the news was greeted with surly derision in Europe. SCEA announced last week that the MGS4 gunmetal PS3 was to launch in America in limited quantities, the pack to include a 40Gb PS3, a DualShock 3 and the game itself. America, it seems, is blessed by Sony. […]

  • Euro MGS4 PS3 pack and DualShock 3 dated on Bartsmit schedule

A supposed PS3 schedule from Dutch retailer Bartsmit has shown what appears to be dates for DualShock 3 and a Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 pack for Europe. DualShock 3 is dated at May 2 on the list, the the MGS4 pack apparently launching on June 12, the same day as the game itself launches […]

  • DualShock 3 shipping in US now, Sixaxis discontinued

DualShock 3 is now shipping in the US, according to this. The controller will completely phase Sixaxis out, apparently, with rather rapid effect. “Sixaxis will no longer be offered after it’s completely sold through at retail (likely by the summer timeframe),” said a SCEA rep. Can we have it in Europe now, please?

  • SCEA releases DualShock 3 compatibility list

Here Sony’s last generation rumbling controller releases next week in America, so now’s probably a good time for US people to find out what it actually works with. Still no European date for this.

  • May 2 release date rumoured for DualShock 3 in Europe

According to this Dutch PlayStation site, DualShock 3 will be released in Europe on May 2. The site references “a reliable source” but no more information is given. As rumours go, this one’s plausible due to the fact that MGS4 is released a month later and uses the new pad’s funtionality, but don’t go holding […]

  • America in wanting DualShock 3 non-shock

DualShock 3 has gone to second place in the Amazon.com charts prior to is release on April 15. There’s still no date for the rumbling controller in Europe, and there’s unlikely to be one particularly soon considering the upcoming GT5: Prologue bundle – dated March 28 – comes with a Sixaxis. So, logic dictates, if […]

  • Satin Silver PS3 out in Japan now

And here it is. £217 to you, provided you can get someone to post it to you. Play-Asia won’t ship them to anywhere in the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway. We’re sure you can find a way around that. It’ll be faster than waiting for SCEE to release it over here.

  • SCEE clams on Euro DualShock 3 price and date

Following the announcement last night that DualShock 3 is to be released in America on April 15 – alongside GT5 Prologue – for $55, SCEE has said that the controller’s passage to Europe is still out there in Q-something. “Release date and price for the DS3 in Europe is still to be confirmed,” said a […]

  • SCEE: "No plans for silver PS3 in Europe"

SCEE has just confirmed to VG247 that European gamers aren’t going to be seeing that lovely satin silver PS3 any time soon. “SCEE currently has no plans to release a satin silver PS3 in Europe,” said a spokesperson. The machine is launching in Japan next month for the equivalent of £189, with a Sixaxis controller, […]

  • Dualshock 3 not packaged with Japanese silver PS3 bundle

And eagle eye award of the day goes to Blerk, for spotting that the “satin” silver Japanese PS3 bundle announced this morning doesn’t, in fact, come bundled with a Dualshock 3 controller. It’s got a Sixaxis in it, so it says here. If Japanese people want a Dualshock 3 they have to buy it separately […]

  • No plans for PAL 120Gb PS3

SCEE has no plans to release a rumoured 120-160Gb PS3 SKU, GI’s reporting, reponding to persistent rumours that the (maybe) ditched 80Gb US SKU is to be replaced by a package with a bigger hard drive. “We do not currently have any plans to release a 120GB PlayStation 3 in the UK,” said a SCEE […]
