System Shock remake screens show faithful aesthetics

There's a System Shock remake in the works, and it looks as authentic to the original as you'd hope.

System Shock is getting a remake and it's being done by developer Night Dive. Not to be confused with System Shock: Enhanced Edition, which came out recently also thanks to Night Dive.

Now that it owns the rights to the franchise, the studio is working on re-imagining the classic for modern systems. Robert Waters, concept artist of the original, is on board, and he's not alone.

"We have been in contact with members of the original System Shock team and any future iterations of the System Shock games," CEO Stephen Kick told Polygon.

"And by this I mean both new titles in the series as well as major updates to the existing games, will be very true to the spirit of the originals."

The game will be built on Unity engine, and it's already looking great. You can see screenshots of the old and the new at Polygon.
