Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fastest-selling Nintendo home console game of all time in Europe

Nintendo knocks it out of the park with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Switch sales in Europe and the U.S.

Nintendo has announced that Super Smash. Bros Ultimate is "the fastest-selling Nintendo home console game of all time in Europe," while across the pond, the title sold over 3 million copies in 11 days, according to Nintendo's internal sales data (via Business Wire).

Just over a week ago, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate became the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game at UK retail.

The outlet also reports that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fastest-selling game in the series, and the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game ever, based on U.S. sales data.

"We are thrilled to see such a strong reaction from consumers in the second holiday season for Nintendo Switch,” said Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Doug Bowser. “We’re looking forward to delivering more excitement and smiles to our fans in the coming year and beyond.”

The good news extends to the Nintendo Switch, which is the fastest-selling video game system this generation in the U.S.

Since its 2017 launch, the console has sold over 8.7 million units, which is more than the other current gen consoles at the same point in their life cycles.
