Super Hexagon tots up 10,000 sales in launch window

Super Hexagon has sold "way beyond expectations" on its debut weekend.

The unusual and already notoriously difficult title pulled in over 10,000 sales in its first three days, creator Terry Cavanagh revealed in a Reddit AMA.

"I didn't see that coming at all – I'd really gone into this expecting the game to be a super niche thing that only a tiny handful of iPhone gamers would be interested in, and I'm really glad to be proven wrong," he said.

Super Hexagon released on September 6, and the indie developer is now planning Android, Mac and PC ports, as well as some more obscure platforms.

Cavanagh is also responsible for cult-favourite VVVVVV and Don't Look Back.
