It may not be SSX, but you can get yourself a free copy of Steep right now

For a limited time, Ubisoft is giving away free copies of the PC version of Steep.

Though Ubisoft appears to have retired its regular Uplay freebies, the publisher does offer free games from time to time. The next promotion is here with Steep, the 2016 winter sports game.

You may be forgiven for forgetting the game existed, as it admittedly made much less of a splash than anticipated. As it tends to, however, Ubisoft stuck with it and continued to support it. And, wouldn't you believe it, Steep continues to get paid expansion, with the most recent of which adding the X Games.

In any case, the base version of Steep is yours to keep forever if you manage to claim it through this Uplay link. The game should appear in your library immediately, where you'll be able to download it.

You have until Tuesday, May 21 to do so.
