Watch gameplay from motorbike action game Steel Rats
Steel Rats is showing off some of its biker and motorbike violence against invading alien robots.
Steel Rats is an indie, 2.5D combat racing games where you control one of three bikers. The story is set in a retro-futuristic post-apocalypse following an invasion by robots known as Junkbots.
Today's trailer gives a tease of each of the three biker's abilities, and shows off some of the combat in the process. Gameplay is a bit unusual, with destructive and speed-focused character abilities, all performed from the back of a motorcycle.
There's a stunt component in there, too, even if the trailer emphasises the action. The front wheel on the bike can turn into a buzz saw of sorts that lets you take down enemies and plough through obstacles.
It looks like an action take on Trials, but with more destruction and less of the rigorous adherence to performing stunts.
Steel Rats has a distinct, hazy art style and good-looking lighting that accentuates the sparks coming off the bikes and makes the attacks surprisingly easy to read.
