Steam Guard to be enforced for Steam Trading from December 12th

Steam Guard is Valve's security measure that safeguard's users whenever someone tries to access their account from an unrecognised device. So far it has been optional, but from December 12th it will be a mandatory safety requirement when using Steam Trading. Reddit users unearthed Valve's plans last night. Get the details below.

Screen grabs of the safety measure were posted on Reddit, along with a message that states users will be unable to use Steam Trading unless they have Steam Guard active for 15 days prior to the trade.

Rumblings on the Reddit comment threads suggest that the move has been brought on by a lapse in security following Steam's 2011 Christmas sale, in which users accessed new achievements and traded them for lumps of coal using multiple accounts, earning themselves free games like it was going out of style.

What do you make of Valve's safeguard? Is it a wise move? Let us know below.
