Publisher and developer pages on Steam now look a lot nicer, have better navigation

Like it's doing with Steam chat, Valve is also bringing another aspect of Steam into the modern age.

Namely, official developer and publisher pages on Steam. As it stands, if you click on a developer or publisher name on game pages, you'll be taken to a generic list of games they've developed/published.

This page looks similar to the one you get in search results, or by clicking on any genre tag. It's lacklustre, to say the least, and Valve's giving these pages a nice upgrade.

Called Creator Homepages, these new landing pages feature slick modern designs, and can list the entire catalogue for any given developer or publisher. Like you can with Curators, you'll also be able to follow your favourite developers and publishers and be notified whenever they release new games.

An open beta for the upgraded Creator Homepages is available now for all. You can even see the new designs on the pages of a few big publishers and developers. That said, because setting up the new pages needs to be done by the developer, not everyone's page is going to have the modern look just yet.

The updated pages are made up of different tabs highlighting current releases, upcoming games, ongoing sales and so on. You'll also be able to filter out DLC, demos or individual games on the page.

Developers and publishers also have the ability to split games into different franchises or genres, or highlight their best-selling games.

For smaller developers with only a handful of games or less, their pages will look different to better highlight future projects rather than existing releases.

You can see some of the pages for the developers and publishers who signed up so far at the official Homepages list.
