StarCraft 2 Season One 2014 league play has commenced

Blizzard has announced Season One of 2014 StarCraft 2 league play has commenced, with bonus pools and standings having been reset, and the 2013 Season 6 milestones awarded.

Season One will contain news maps for the 1v1 and 2v2 ladder map pools, which you peruse through a special section on Battle.net.

"As always, the hidden skill ratings used for matchmaking and league placement carry over from one season to the next, so if you were already placed in a league prior to the 2013 Season 6 lock, you'll only need to play one placement match to kick off the new season," said Blizzard.

Starting today, the firm will also be applying a free character name change to all accounts without one currently available.

As always, more information is available through Battle.net.
