Star Wars: open-world, next-gen game spotted in recruiting

Star War 1313 seems to have gone the way of the dodo, but EA Canada appears to be working on an open-world, next-gen Star Wars game.

According to a couple of job ads spotted by super-sleuth Superannuation on Kotaku describes a project at EA Canada as "a major new next gen open world action game", being developed by a Star Wars teams.

One EA Canada job ad for a combat designer was confirmed as an open-world Star Wars project in September.

Superannuation speculates that EA Canada may be working with Visceral Games on the same project, as the publisher had previously confirmed Visceral has a Star Wars project in the works and one of the ads calls for experience with multi-studio development.

EA Canada is the developer of FIFA and other sports titles.

The only properly announced Star Wars project in the wake of Disney's LucasArts buyout and subsequent deal with EA is DICE's Battlefront.
