Star Wars: Attack Squadrons is free space combat game for PC, trailer inside

Star Wars: Attack Squadrons is a flight combat title from new studio Area 52 Games. It's free and coming to PC in 2014, with a beta expected in due course.

The game sees up to 16-players dogfighting in a selection of iconic ships from the Star Wars flicks, including X-Wings and Tie Fighters. Players can engage in three competitive modes; Free For All, Team Dogfight and Base Defense and earn points that can be spent on ship customisation and new items.

Beta sign-ups are being accepted now over on the Star Wars: Attack Squadrons site, with a testing phase due at some point next year.

What do you think of the concept so far?
