Star Trek Online in production for a "full year"

A new IGN Star Trek Online preview from Comic Con, based on a chat with the game's producer, has claimed that the MMO has now been in production for a year.

"The game has been in development for a full year now and, thanks to Cryptic's advanced technology, is already at a state where the team is playing it on a weekly basis," says the piece.

Cryptic's latest, and undoubtedly highest profile project, was announced last year in Las Vegas. Creative lead Jack Emmert failed to put a release date on the game at the time, but said it’s going to be "sooner than you think".

This year? After a year's work? Don't think so.
