SpyMaster developer PlayRaven nets $2.3 million investment

Supercell backers put money into studio established by ex-Remedy and Digital Chocolate developers

The developer of World War II spy sim SpyMaster has received $2.3 million in funding for the iPad game.

SpyMaster charges players with managing a network of Allied spies across Europe, sneaking around Axis territory and undertaking missions in various occupied cities.

The funding comes from London Venture Partners - a firm set up by ex-EA boss David Gardner and Microsoft's Phil Harrison - who have successfully backed Clash of Clans maker Supercell, as well as Jari Ovaskainen, another Supercell investor, and Spotify investor Creandum.

PlayRaven was established last year by former Remedy Entertainment, Wooga and Digital Chocolate developers.
