Splinter Cell movie to be directed by The Bourne Identity's Doug Liman

The Bourne Identity's Doug Liman is reportedly in final negotiations with New Regency over taking the director's chair on Splinter Cell. Ubisoft's move adaptation will star Tom Hardy, and is currently without an official release window.

However; The Hollywood Reporter has it that Splinter Cell production will begin in August and is targeted for a 2015 release. American Hustle's Eric Singer wrote the film's screenplay, and will be produced by both Liman himself and Ubisoft Motion Picture Group's Jean-Julien Baronnet.
