Soul Sacrifice's death mechanic lets you choose the afterlife

Soul Sacrifice is getting more and more interesting with each new reveal. These new shards of gameply information come courtesy of Famitsu, including an intriguing take on your character's death. Want to be a ghost? No problem.

Gematsu reports on Famitsu's words, which spool off a list of new gameplay mechanics. The PS Vita game already boasts a number of interesting mechanics, including the sacrifice attack system, which permanently scars your body but gives you leverage in a fight.

The new death mechanic triggers when you are downed. You can either call for the aid of your co-op buddies, sacrifice yourself to boost your party and dish out damage, or choose death.

If you die, you will become a spirit that can continue the fight in a support role only. You will not be able to attack, but you can help your friends by touching them. We're not sure at this time if that heals them or adds buffs, but we'll know more over time.

Other mechanics allow you to role-share, and fire off a range of direct and indirect magic. Decisions throughout the game - including the amount of times you sacrifice - will alter the game's ending, and much more.

Thanks Gematsu.
