Sony settles with unpaid intern who worked as QA

Sony has paid out £4,600 to an intern who sued for compensation for work performed in Killzone: Mercenary developer Guerrilla Cambridge's QA department.

The Independent reports Sony put the intern to work for the duration of his visit, rather than having him shadow a staff member as is usual; the UK has different laws regarding volunteer labour to the US, and interns who do a real job are eligible for minimum wage.

After the case was reported to British Customs, Sony paid out weeks ahead of a scheduled tribunal and granted the intern £1,000 more than sought by the suit.
