Sony says there are over 100 titles in the works for PlayStation VR

Sony has said there are over 100 titles in the works for PlayStation VR.

Speaking with the BBC at CES 2016 this week, Sony boss Kaz Hirai said there are currently 200 developers signed up for the PlayStation VR program.

"We are working on over 100 titles that will play on PlayStation VR," he said. "This is a testament to the kind of support we are getting from the content creation community. So we have a lot of support and I think it will be great product when it comes out later this year."

In November, a list showing at least 50 games confirmed for the headset was posted, some really interesting titles for the device were announced, and during the PlayStation Experience back in December other games were announced as being in the works.

These included Rez Infinite, Golem, RIGS Job Simulator and The Modern Zombie Taxi Co.

Ubisoft's Eagle Flight was also announced, and it will also be released for Oculus Rift.

Yesterday, Oculus announced initial units of its Rift headset would start shipping in March. As of press time, pre-orders made today will start shipping in June. The company also said there will be over 100 titles available for Rift by the end of 2016.

A firm release date and price point for PlayStation VR have not been announced.
