Sniper Elite V2 PC will have competitive multiplayer

In addition to the co-operative missions previously announced, the PC version of Sniper Elite V2 will sport an exclusive team deathmatch mode.

Rebellion expects the extra mode to be available at launch, and to support up to 12 players on dedicated servers.

Judging by Rebellion's responses on Twitter, the decision as to whether to include a competitive multiplayer mode in the console version rests with the 505 Games. As Rebellion is self-publishing the PC version, it has final say, and chose to include it in that version. We've asked 505 Games for clarification.

The console multiuplayer offering is still quite robust, with several modes available to two player teams, including playing through the campaign together; a kind of horde more aiming for high kill scores; a stealthy escape from a bombed out zone; and a co-operative effort between a sniper and an operative.

Sniper V2 Elite looks pretty grouse and releases on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 4.
