Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS release date won't be announced during Nintendo Direct

Super Smash Bros. is getting its very own episode of Nintendo Direct tonight, but the company has confirmed that the Wii U and 3DS brawler won't be getting a solid release date tonight, but that it should get a launch window.

It follows these brand new Super Smash Bros. Wii U screens that show a giant Metroid looming over the Animal Crossing village.

The official Smash Bros. Twitter feed posted two messages this morning. The first one reads, "Finally tomorrow starting at 7 AM we’ll broadcast the Smash Bros. Direct. Despite the early morning we heard many people that are looking forward to the livestream. Thank you!"

Then, "We’re not in the condition to announce a specific release date yet, but in the broadcast tomorrow we’ll inform you of an approximate release window."

We'll have more after tonight's stream. Stay tuned.
