Skyrim PC patched to 1.31 with 4GB RAM support

Bethesda has released a small patch for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, on top of the multi-platform patch 1.3 released last week.

According to Bethesda's patch notes, the update has only two fixes: a correction for an issue with how text is displayed, and more excitingly, "support for 4-Gigabyte Tuning (Large Address Aware)".

Official support for 4GB RAM-based rigs has been requested by PC players since launch day. An older patch has implemented 4GB RAM support, but the next update (or rather, anti-update) removed it again. The quiet patch release is a neat little holiday bonus and yes, I did just write that so I'd have an excuse to use a screenshot with this hat in it.

Additionally, Rock Paper Shotgun reports important texts looted from bodies will no open and display automatically rather than requiring the player to find and browse them manually.
