Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Kickstarter launched by WayForward
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has landed on Kickstarter. The WayForward title stars a human/genie hybrid who can hair-whip monsters with her ponytail, and belly dances to transform into magical creatures.
Shantae has been featured in three previous titles exclusively on Nintendo handhelds, but now with your help she can release on PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
WayForward describes the title as continuing the traditions of Metroid, Castlevania, and the Legend of Zelda.
The initial funding goal of $400,000 will allow the firm to create an opening stage with boss, three chapters, and a conclusion. However, with stretch goals, another playable character, bonus chapters and costume swaps are planned.
With 29 days left on the counter, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has been backed by 1,177 people who've tossed $29,714 in its direction.
