SCEJ confirms global PSP go price-drop

pspgo3

Sony's has dropped the price of PSP go in Japan, the US and Europe, beginning from tomorrow.

The new price for the digital-only handheld is now ¥16,800 ($200/£132) in Japan.

The American price has been reduced to $199, down from $249.

The European SKU has been cut to £159.99, down from £199.99.

The Japanese press release is here.

PSP go launched just last October in the west, but has done miserably in terms of sales.

In Japan, it comes out bottom of the hardware charts while its older brother, the disc-based PSP-3000, is a top-seller in the country.

These cuts come in the face of accelerating rumour regarding PSP2, which was only today reported to have an HD screen.
