Sacred Citadel to grace console networks ahead of Sacred 3

The Sacred series is taking a temporary turn for the light-hearted with side-scrolling beat-'em-up Sacred Citadel.

Equipped with "bitching battles", "ridonkulous rides" and "crazy co-op", the startlingly lovely looking hack-and-slasher is due on PC, the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade some time in 2013.

The last game in the series, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, released in 2008. Original series developer Ascaron has since gone out of business, but publishers Deep Silver and Koch have brought XIII and ilomilo studio Southend Interactive on board for Sacred Citadel.

And hey-o, maybe more; a post on the franchise's official Facebook page asks us to stay tuned for more news on the beat-'em-up - and on Sacred 3.
