Rust developer tinkering with Xbox One devkits

Rust developer FacePunch Studios is in receipt of Xbox One development kits, but is a long way off confirming a console port for the survival sandbox.

Founder Garry Newman thanked Microsoft for the development kits on Twitter. He was then asked by Kotaku's Stephen Totilo whether he intended to bring Rust to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or whether he was "just tinkering".

"A bit of both," Newman replied.

"Neither have an Early Access program as far as I know - so anything we do is a while off."

Rust is currently in alpha on Steam Early Access, and it's still not entirely clear what direction it will evolve in. This hasn't stopped it selling 1 million units, though.

Thanks, Joystiq.
