Russian news uses Metal Gear Solid 5 image to discuss child soldiers in Africa

While there is nothing humorous whatsoever regarding the topic of child soldiers, it is rather amusing that a Sophie Co. segment on RT, previously known as Russia Today, would use a Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain screenshot to get the point across.

Noticed by Kotaku, the 24 minute news segment featured Shevardnadze interviewing hip-hop artist Emmanuel Jal, a former child soldier in the Sudan, discussing the region as well as his horrid childhood.

This is when an image from the game popped up showing the African region in the game as well as the child soldiers. It starts around the 36 second mark.

While the image could be considered jarring, it's not a real depiction. Google has plenty of real, legitimate pictures of such social and moral tragedies.

Maybe someone on the news team is just a fan of the Metal Gear games. Who knows.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be released on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One next year.
