Rumour: Elder Scrolls MMO readying for May announce

ZeniMax Media and Bethesda will announce the long-rumoured Elder Scrolls MMO sometime in May, TomsGuide is reporting.

It reports, under a "industry source that wishes to remain anonymous," the title will take place a full millennium before Skyrim, and several hundred years before any of the other titles in the series.

It adds it'll have three playable classes, each represented under an animal: "a lion, a dragon, and a bird of prey," although it added it was unsure if it was a eagle or phoenix.

The site adds it'll be showing the game at E3 and QuakeCon, the latter TomsGuide says will show DOOM 4 and other titles from Bethesda. The only confirmed titles for 2012 from the publisher is Arkane's Dishonored and Human Head's Prey 2.

It is, however, likely that Bethesda may choose to announce it under embargo at its yearly pre-E3 event. That, however, typically takes place in April.

VG247 was told two years ago The Elder Scrolls MMO was, indeed, a real thing. ZeniMax announced last year the opening of a customer service centre in Galway in the Republic of Ireland, suggesting the online title wasn't too far away from an announce.

Bethesda's given a "no comment" on the matter.
